We are not looking for someone to just show up, we want to speak with individuals who truly have a passion for early years development, who love to teach and care through play and creativity, ensuring that children leave the setting with a love of learning, fully prepared for the educational journey ahead of them. The Childcare Practitioner will support the team in providing safe, high quality care and education for young children which meets and safeguards the individual needs of children attending the setting.

This setting offers a wide provision of hours to families with both EYFS and out of school care, and can therefore offer a consistent, stable working environment and a chance to work with the regular infant and pre-school groups along with children up to age 12, giving the successful applicant a fantastically diverse experience.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and does require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them.

The Person :
- Level 3 Childcare Qualification or above
- Previous experience of working with children within the age range 3 months to 5 years
- Clear dedication to a career in childcare
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, confidentiality, managing behaviour and special educational needs,
- Commitment to health and safety, fire precautions, food safety and arrival and departure procedures
- Creative and innovative with ideas and enthusiasm
- Strong communicator (both verbal and written) with both children AND parents / carers
- Sound knowledge of different play-based methods of learning and development
- Warm, friendly, caring and professional attitude
- Passionate about literacy, numeracy, science and FUN!
The Commitment:

- This setting is open year round Monday - Friday with after school and holiday clubs (closing over the Christmas period).
- The setting opens at 07:45 and closes at 17:45 therefore applicants must be open to working early or late shifts on a rolling rota.
- We are looking for a commitment of 30 hrs a week, however we are open to this role being split between two individuals who are happy to job share on 15 hrs per week.
