HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING IN THE TRADES? DO YOU HAVE GENERAL MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A STEADY, RELIABLE, LONG TERM JOB?
We have a permanent vacancy available for a Fitter to join this well established interiors business on the Isle of Wight, installing high quality blinds and curtains for domestic and commercial customers Island-wide. This team has been working together for a long time and now due to demand for service they are ready to on-board a new Fitter to the team.
This employer has a fantastic reputation and they are keen to find someone who will represent their brand in a professional manner. Known for their excellent finish and service, this company is well suited to someone with an eye for detail who takes pride in their own work.
With training available, specific experience with the installation of blinds and curtains is not required (although if you have experience in this area you will have an advantage). We are keen to speak to individuals who have experience within a trades or maintenance environment. Basic carpentry, fit out experience, or skills with power tools for example would be very relevant for this position .
Working with a wide range of customers, the Fitter will need to be well presented and professional at all times (uniform provided) and applicants will need to have good verbal communication skills as this is very much a customer facing role out on site.
Due to the nature of the role (working in confined spaces, lifting equipment and working at height) applicants are required to be physically fit to carry out manual tasks on-site. There will also be an element of lone working as smaller jobs do not require the full team, so the Fitter will need to be able to work independently and reliably under their own steam.
This role offers a 37 hour week, with steady, regular hours of 9-5 Monday - Friday (with voluntary overtime available on a regular basis) . There will be occasional mainland working requiring an earlier start, however this is not a regular occurrence.
With a family friendly attitude towards staff, and a focus on the whole team achieving a strong work life balance, this employer is keen to work with employees to ensure working hours fit in around personal commitments. If you have specific requirements that would help you balance your work and personal life better, (caring for dependants, childcare patterns etc) please state this on application to help us try and create a work structure that suits you.
Applicants will need a full clean driving license (vehicle provided) and will be required to pass a full DBS check due to working with individuals in their homes.
