Here at Sunshine Recruitment Solutions we are delighted to be working with The Local Directory Magazine to find the next member of this brilliant local media team!
“The Local Directory Magazine is a digital and print media marketing tool designed to inspire, encourage and promote all things local on the Isle of Wight, from the self-employed and small businesses, the thriving community, local events and activities, our incredible history and culture, innovative and fun ideas and the unknown places which make this Island so special.”
This is a relatively new project for the Island, still in their first year of publication and the response so far has been phenomenal. This little monthly magazine is a treasure trove of positivity and community spirit, supporting Island business and shouting about all the good and great elements of Island living. The publication was created in response to a need for affordable local advertising, driving content that appeals to the local business community, residents and visitors. It is no small task, but this hard-working team have used their passion for the Island to get just the right blend of information and advertising.
To maintain momentum and respond to demand, the Local Directory Magazine is now in a position to secure a Freelance Graphic Designer to focus on layout and design of the magazine each month.
Simply having a great eye for aesthetics and detail won’t be enough for this role, to work in this team you will also need to be a passionate ambassador for the Isle of Wight, keen to show off all this incredible location has to offer. It is likely that your thoughts and ideas on content and features will be encouraged in this small team, so graphic designers with a passion for great content are actively encouraged to apply.
The Freelance Graphic Designer will need to be skilled with the following systems;
Due to the nature of print media, the designer will need to commit to specific time-frames towards the end of each month in order to achieve deadlines, however the team are keen to encourage flexible working around that, to enable the successful applicant to pursue other projects in their portfolio.
Whilst this is predominantly a remote role working from your own office, the successful designer will be expected to join the team at their Newport offices for a monthly meeting and at other times as required.
The Local Directory Magazine is a bright and engaging publication, full of fantastic visual content every month, if you think that could suit your design style and if you want to be part of a burgeoning Isle of Wight brand then we would like to hear from you.
The team at The Local Directory Magazine have requested that all initial applications and queries are handled by us at Sunshine Recruitment Solutions, so please contact us for any additional information and if you would like to apply, please include in your application a brief cover note, highlighting any relevant print media experience and telling us what you think is the best thing about the Isle of Wight!
