The Isle of Wight has a history of harbouring business that focuses on innovation in engineering, with pioneering machinery at the heart of many local success stories. This employer is no exception, in fact this company is literally breaking the mould and showcasing engineering at its finest!
This is a full-time position, and there will be ‘on call’ elements for emergency maintenance work split between the team. Weekend working is not required unless on call.
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer, to work with unique, innovative, mechanical systems here on the Isle of Wight. This is a secure and stable full-time post, working directly alongside a small, dedicated team of professional engineers covering all aspects of onsite maintenance including ppm, service, fault finding and repair work on heating systems, boilers and plant machinery in an industrial / agricultural setting. The role will also be cover health and safety compliance on site.
This team is specifically working within a CHP plant and the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for scheduling planned maintenance programmes on site and responding to unplanned maintenance needs. Whilst this is a very ‘hands on’ practical role, this position will therefore require strong reporting skills and confident use of IT systems including MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Monitoring, gathering and analysing data will also be an essential part of the job.
We are looking for practical working history, in an engineering environment and, as training will be provided, our employer is very keen to keep an open mind and encourage applicants from a wide range of settings from automotive mechanical work to marine engineering. Applicants with experience of combined heat and power operation will have a distinct advantage but necessary training will be provided so this is NOT an essential requirement.
To be considered for this role, please apply with a current CV and a brief cover letter outlining your key maintenance experience relevant to the position.
