We are seeking a talented Carpenter with a reliable work history to join this close knit team of trades professionals working across the Isle of Wight. This is a permanent, full time position with steady predictable workloads, 23 days holiday with buy and sell options (plus bank holidays), company van provided, pension, life assurance and cycle to work schemes all as part of the remuneration package.

This role will focus on day to day repairs, and planned / preventative maintenance contracts.
This team is pro-active and hard working, so we are seeking a Multi Skilled Carpenter who is capable of working independently in a professional and efficient manner, able to pro-actively identify areas for attention and communicate well with the team .
All individuals employed by our client hold the relevant qualifications for their post, and most have considerable experience within their specialist area. In this position the carpenter will also require secondary skills and experience to enable them to fully integrate into the team. Applicants will therefore need to demonstrate the following ;

The Multi Skilled Carpenter will need to liaise with a wide variety of people, from residential tenants and business professionals to management and on site teams. In order to work safely and effectively, applicants must be confident speaking with members of the public and be able to keep accurate, up to date paperwork (basic IT skills for record keeping, emailing etc will therefore also be required)
This is a full time role with a 40hr working week. Steady and predictable hours on rota will be the standard, however applicants should be willing to work out of hours and be included in the "on-call" team when needed.

- Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry
- Demonstrate competency in 2 other secondary (trades related) skills
- Substantial, relevant trades experience
- Fit & Fix Mortice Latch and Latch set, Door Hanging, Door Lining and Rebated frame work.
- Kitchen installation with mitred worktop joints (internal & external) .
- UPVC repairs and maintenance (doors and windows) would be advantageous
- Fire-door installation and awareness of associated regulations
- Be able to diagnose the right repair adopting the right first-time approach.
- Hold a full current driving licence.
- Due to the nature of the work, a full DBS check will be required
