Due to a successful internal restructure (and promotion of the previous post-holder) we are now recruiting for an exceptionally rare executive position, with a truly global tech leader in offices located on the beautiful Isle of Wight (just off the south coast of the UK).
Over time, this hugely successful business has developed a committed team of technology professionals focused on creating ground-breaking and innovative software solutions for industrial and commercial settings. Major corporations around the world consistently choose this team to deliver the right tools for their business, knowing they will be in safe hands.
We now need a skilled individual to take on a key leadership position in the Software Development team. This is a role of great responsibility, requiring exceptional leadership and communication skills to direct, support and motivate a team of circa 25 software development professionals. We are looking for a confident public speaker, someone engaging and able to speak openly about complex technology in an accessible way at all levels.
This management position is a strategic role, requiring skills in the creation and realisation of company goals. The Software Development Manager will be responsible for efficient and effective management of the department, including targeting, performance, budgets and quality always with stakeholder expectations in mind. The position requires an individual who can identify issues and immediately start the problem-solving process, analysing areas for improvement with a systematic approach, applying the principles of software development to the wider management of the department.
This is an expert team, with expectations of continuous professional development. They require a leader keen to further develop the department, building on the exceptional work they deliver. The Software Development Manager will need to understand the functionality and pressure linked with a high performing Software Development team. This means applicants MUST demonstrate a background in successful software development and management of development teams, with an expert knowledge of the principles and methodologies involved.
This is an innovative company, with success driven by creativity and process. The internationally renowned systems they create are continuously evolving and building, so the successful applicant will have the opportunity to blend innovation and strategic thinking with operational planning.
Our client is keen to secure an individual for this post who will stay with the company long term. To this end, applicants must be prepared to fully relocate to the Isle of Wight or Southampton area, in order to sustain the position for the foreseeable future. Whilst there will absolutely be opportunities for regular international travel, this role will be based in the Isle of Wight offices in a full-time capacity.
The role offers a generous remuneration package, including healthcare, and the company has a fantastic approach to encouraging a strong work-life balance for their employees, knowing that in doing this they can maintain their stable and consistent workforce.
