We are looking to secure a skilled IT technician to join this busy, fast paced IT department on the Isle of Wight delivering an efficient, effective and customer focused IT service.
To succeed and progress in this role you will need to be a keen communicator with a skill for explaining complex IT solutions to a wide range of users including colleagues in other departments . You will also be tasked with supporting a busy help-desk with advice via telephone and email support. We are therefore looking for some one with an enthusiasm for technology and a proactive work ethic who can help this professional team in delivering support with a focus on quality service and results .

This is a multi site role and will require travel around the Island day to day so own motorised transport will be required.

- Diagnosis and maintenance of hardware, peripherals and applications
- Provision of support of hardware, OS and applications
- Implementation of network infrastructure
- Install and assist in administration of network components including switches, routers and bridges
- Install and assist in administration of workstations, servers, wireless & Internet filtering systems for both local and remote services
- Administration, monitoring and testing of ICT equipment (including PAT)
- Administration of backup and virus protection procedures
- Provision of second line support for more complex requests
- Assess needs, and recommend internal / external support arrangements to ensure effective ICT provision
- Management of licenses and warranties for hardware and software etc
- Contribute to the development of websites and external platforms
- Assist in the provision of training for staff
